Blog mainly about advertising and brands, but really just a place to act as an inventory of things I see and like.
Nice little idea from Marc Jacobs encouraging consumers to feel part of the brand with the MarcFam campaign. The social media campaign asks fans of the brand to share photos relating to MJ online with the hashtag #MarcFam through Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare. These photos then form part of an online gallery where the most popular win Marc Jacobs merchandise. I’ve said it before - I love Instagram and love that brands are now getting in on it.

Another ‘I want one of those’ collaborations between two brands that just work.  This time between Italian outerwear specialists Moncler and German luggage company Rimowa. More pics over at fashionsnap.com

Absolutely love this from London agency Berg - Little Printer. It lives in your home and is connected to the web to print little bits of information from your online world and form a sort of mini newspaper. Subscriptions to what is printed can be controlled via a mobile app.

Clearly the TV highlight of the Christmas period - This is England 88 on Channel 4. Top work by 4Creative on the promo poster.

And the results are in for The Vaccines Instagram crowd-sourced music video for the single ‘Wetsuit’. Fans were asked to take pictures of themselves at festivals and submit them by tagging them with #vaccinesvideo. The band received nearly 3,000 photos and approximately 15,000 likes on Instagram. The project is the work of agency Anomoly and director Poppy de Villeneuve. Really impressed with outcome of the video - captures the summer festival perfectly. Interesting to see how brands will use Instagram in the future - a great platform.

Nice little collaboration between the Ace Hotel group and The Impossible Project. Impossible produce instant film for classic Polaroid cameras “keeping the visceral art of instant analog photography alive for today’s romantics”.  Every guest that stays at one of Ace’s properties (Palm Springs, NYC, Seattle & Portland) get given a refurbished Polaroid camera with a limited edition custom pack of Impossible x Ace Hotel PX600 film to document their stay. Pics can be uploaded to an online gallery - acehotel.com/impossible
More plans on this collaboration in the works so keen to see what is coming up. Film and cameras available from the Ace Hotel Online Shop.

Great collaboration between Nike and The Michael J. Fox Foundation finally producing the Nike MAG shoe that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future 2. Only 1500 have been produced and being sold through eBay with all proceeds going to Parkinson’s research through the MJF Foundation. A great little film has been made (produced by Robert Zemeckis) and starring Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown.

To promote the new series of Boardwalk Empire - HBO has resurrected a vintage New York subway train and is running on weekends on the 2/3 line. This particular train went into service in 1917, and was retired (until now) in 1969.

Really nice idea from The Vaccines. Their next video for the single ‘Wetsuit’ is to be crowd sourced using fans photographs taken over the summer at festivals, etc. Fans take picture using Instagram and tag photos with #vaccinesvideo and the best will be chosen. Interested to see the results. Another great way Instagram is being used in a creative way.
